How do you assess an aircraft that has been parked for a long time?

We review the maintenance status, open defects, deferred items and any storage or preservation programme before we commit to a date, then agree the return-to-service work needed for the sector we intend to fly.

What happens if the weather closes the window?

We hold. Oceanic windows are narrow and there is always schedule pressure, but the decision to go rests with the captain and the operations desk, not the deadline.

Do you fly aircraft with deferred maintenance items?

Only when those items are properly deferred under an approved minimum equipment list and the intended route stays inside the resulting limitations, including ETOPS and RVSM eligibility.

Ferry flying carries risk that scheduled flying does not: aircraft out of storage, systems on a permit, remote alternates. All of it is managed before the engines start.

Crew qualification

We do not put a crew on an aircraft they are not current on. When a type comes up that our core team does not cover, we source and verify qualified crew rather than stretching the definition of recency.

Aircraft condition

Before accepting a movement we look at the maintenance status, the storage history and any open defects. If an aircraft needs work to be safe for the sector, that work happens first, and it goes into the quote honestly rather than being discovered at the ramp.

Operating under a permit

A special flight permit puts conditions on the flight: day only, unpressurised, gear down, weight limits, crew only on board. Those conditions are built into the flight plan and briefed, not treated as paperwork.

Regulatory oversight

Our air operator certificate is issued and overseen by the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority, covering Airbus, Boeing, CRJ, EMB, ERJ and Q400 types. That oversight applies to the flights we operate under our own certificate, including movements where the aircraft no longer has an operator of its own.

The decision to stop

Weather windows on ocean crossings are narrow, and there is always pressure to go. We hold if the numbers do not work. Clients who have used us more than once tend to see that as the point of hiring a specialist.
