What is an aircraft ferry flight?

A ferry flight moves an aircraft without passengers or revenue cargo. It might be a delivery after a sale, a positioning flight to maintenance, a repossession or a final flight into a teardown yard.

Can you fly an aircraft that is not fully airworthy?

Often yes, under a special flight permit. The permit sets conditions such as day only operation, an unpressurised profile, gear down or weight limits, and we plan the sector around those conditions.

We have no operator for the aircraft. Can you still move it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. That is what our Bermuda air operator certificate is for. It covers Airbus, Boeing, CRJ, EMB, ERJ and Q400 aircraft, so a movement can proceed even when the previous operator has ceased trading.

Do you supply the crew?

Yes. We fly with our own captains where the type allows, and source verified type qualified crew for anything outside that. You never have to assemble a crew yourself.

How quickly can you get RVSM authorization?

For FAA registered aircraft, an RVSM Letter of Authorization typically comes back in three to five working days once the aircraft data package is complete.

Which registries do you work with?

Most commonly N-registered aircraft under the FAA, plus Irish, Isle of Man, Guernsey, San Marino and Bermuda registrations.

Do you handle permits and overflight clearances?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in house. Overflight and landing permits, special flight permits, customs coordination and handling arrangements are all part of the package rather than something you contract separately.

Can you cross the Pacific in a turboprop or regional jet?

We do it regularly. Q400s, CRJs and ERJs cross via Petropavlovsk, Anadyr and Anchorage, with fuel and handling arranged at each stop in advance.

How far ahead should we contact you?

As early as you can. Even a rough plan lets us start the permit lead times running, and permits, not aircraft availability, are usually what sets the departure date.

Do you buy or sell aircraft?

Accepted Answer

No. We move them. Staying out of the transaction means we can work for the seller, the buyer, the lessor or the lender without a conflict.
